Waves of Work: Designing a Dynamic Office for a Logistics Hub

Updated: Jul 24, 2025

Designing the headquarters for a shipping and logistics company in Jeddah offered an opportunity to create a space that physically and visually reflects the company’s essence—movement, precision, and global connection. Rooted in a thoughtful office interior design approach, the concept draws inspiration from the sea, integrating flowing forms, coastal hues, and layered materials that echo both the brand’s operations and its environment.

An Entrance that Echoes the Sea

The journey begins with a sculptural welcome—a sweeping parametric desk that mimics the rhythm of waves. Behind it, a feature wall transitions from deep navy to soft aqua in a seamless ombré, instantly anchoring the design to its maritime roots. This bold, immersive gesture not only defines the first impression but also sets the tone for a workspace built around fluidity and flow.

Open Layouts Framed with Clarity and Warmth

The organically curved floor plan sets the stage for spatial organization. These curves aren't just aesthetic—they guide circulation, subtly separating zones without hard divisions. In the open workspace, full-height glazing along one edge invites daylight to pour in, while custom blue-accented joinery elements both frame and function as gentle dividers.

Glass partitions—detailed with wave-pattern frosting and warm wooden trims - reinforce transparency while preserving a sense of rhythm and tactility. These textured layers create a balanced contrast, merging lightness and structure in a way that feels both modern and grounded.

Ceiling design plays a key role in defining the experience of the space. Above the workstations, high ceilings are lined with wooden baffles and integrated lighting, introducing vertical rhythm and echoing the layered, organic theme. In contrast, curved corridors are defined by lower ceilings finished in soft grey, where continuous linear lights trace the pathway—subtly emphasizing the flow of movement throughout the office.

Spaces of Focus and Refinement

Moving deeper into the layout, private executive areas and meeting rooms transition to a more refined palette. Rich wood wall panels integrate seamlessly with digital displays, bringing together tradition and technology. These spaces maintain the overarching material language, yet elevate it—balancing warmth with corporate sophistication in a way that feels timeless.

Design That Mirrors Motion

This Jeddah office embodies more than logistics - it communicates purpose through form. Every curve, every texture, every shift in light and material tells a story of forward motion, clarity, and connection. It’s a space where visual flow meets operational function—designed to move with the people who bring the business to life.

This space goes beyond aesthetics—it’s a strategic environment where every detail supports the brand’s vision and workflow. Designed by EXS Design, the project stands as a benchmark in commercial interior design, blending identity with performance. It’s a clear example of how thoughtful commercial interior design—when handled by a firm that understands both form and function—can shape not just workplaces, but brand perception and business momentum.
