Dubai 2040 vision-our observations

Planed cities or organically growing cities? This question has always been a part of our design & coaching sessions.

And, planned methods have won unanimously.

We know the practical appeal, However, as critical designers when we look at #dubaicity , we have always missed certain aspects of #organiccities around the world like vibrant pedestrian areas, cultural underlay to the city fabric, public spaces which have a soul, the beauty of nature & time taking over a city in different seasons.

The way we see it, people & the city they come from are reflective of each other. Neither can grow without the other.

After all, Urban Planning is about shaping organic growth, not suppressing it.

The vision of #dubai2040 seems to have so many productive elements of mature cities like nature reserves, more parks. Also, the public beaches which are a part of Dubai's identity are slated to increase by 400 percent! The #dubaivision2040 also talks about enhanced transit solutions & increasing quality of life for the people. We are excited to be a part of this #cityvision. It seems like the best of both worlds!
