Work apartment The Hills, Dubai

This project came back to us through one of our oldest clients. Over time, the relationship has moved beyond briefs and drawings. There is a certain trust that allows conversations to be more open, more instinctive.

The requirement this time was slightly different. It was not just a home, but a work apartment for a wildlife photographer couple. A space that supports long hours of editing, quiet pauses between travels, and moments of reset before the next journey.

The design naturally leaned towards muted hues. Not as a style choice, but as a response to their work. After constantly being surrounded by rich, unpredictable landscapes, the home needed to feel calm and neutral. A backdrop that does not compete, but allows the mind to slow down.

Spaces are kept fluid and uncluttered. Work zones blend into living areas without feeling forced. There is a sense of continuity throughout, where each corner feels connected yet has its own purpose. Light plays an important role here, soft and diffused, making the space feel easy at all times of the day.

Materials are understated. Textures are subtle. Nothing calls for attention, yet everything feels intentional. The focus stays on experience rather than elements.

More than anything, this project reflects familiarity. Designing for someone who already understands your process changes the way decisions are made. It becomes less about explaining and more about refining.

A quiet, balanced space. Built around the way they live, work and pause.
